Making everyday journeys easier and greener
A well-connected neighbourhood
Our plans for North Warmley reflect South Gloucestershire Council’s Local Plan goal to focus growth in places already linked to jobs, schools and public services. The development will prioritise walking, cycling and public transport, making sustainable travel the easiest choice from day one.
Green routes for everyday journeys
We’re creating traffic-free, green corridors that connect homes to:
- Local schools, including Kings Oak Academy, Warmley Park SEN and St Barnabas
- Shops and cafes on Warmley High Street
- The Bristol and Bath Railway Path (NCN Route 4)
- Siston Common, Webbs Heath and Goose Green
Our plans include a new walking and cycling route through Warmley Forest Park, upgraded public rights of way, and two new bridges across Siston Brook.
Better local links, for everyone
The development will support local travel within 15 minutes, with improved access to schools, green spaces and local services. Contributions through Section 106 agreements will help fund safer crossings, cycleways on Warmley High Street and school routes in Warmley and Webbs Heath.
Buses within easy reach
- Every home will be within walking distance of a bus stop
- The Number 43 bus will be extended into the site
- New stops will be added across the neighbourhood
- We will contribute to future services along the Ring Road
Mobility hubs for sustainable travel
A central mobility hub will offer EV charging, car club bays, bike hire (including e-bikes and cargo bikes), secure cycle parking, parcel lockers, and real-time bus information. Smaller hubs will be located throughout the site to support flexible, low-carbon travel.
Investing in transport improvements
Our development will help deliver South Gloucestershire Council’s Infrastructure Delivery Plan, contributing funding towards:
- The Mobility and Car Club Package
- The Active Travel Package
- Improved public transport along the Ring Road
A connected community for Warmley
We’ll support new and improved travel options for existing residents too. New bus stops, walking routes and mobility measures will be available to all, helping Warmley become a more connected, less car-dependent community.
Safe access and movement
North Warmley will be accessed via three new junctions:
The street layout is designed to support safe, slow-speed movement, with:
- A primary street for buses, pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles
- Traffic-calmed secondary streets with planting and shared spaces
- 20mph limits, green corridors and tree-lined streets
- EV charging for all homes and two new bridges over Siston Brook
We are also exploring further mobility points near open spaces and bus stops to support flexible, inclusive travel options across the community.
